Riding the Dandelion

I recently called my coach to ask for some advice on getting and remaining focussed in my endeavour to build my business. I tend to be distracted by all the shiny objects that come my way, hoping that one that I latch on to will somehow catapult me to huge success in as little time and effort as possible.

Although I believe that hard work is unavoidable, and, for the most part, rewarding in the end, it is human nature to seek paths of least resistance. A study of the most successful people reveals that they have all done the hard work. They had a vision, set goals, put plans in place and were relentless in reaching their dreams. A fair amount of structure, habit and systemization is required for that level of achievement.

I think, though, that occasionally, routine needs to be doused with some flavour

and sprinkled with some spice. Sometimes going with the flow is just what the situation calls for. Who knows what treasures will be found, what adventures lie waiting, what opportunities will present themselves.

It is in those wistful moments that one must be willing to ride the dandelion.
